Dear Boys and Girls,

Our church has just celebrated Bible Week.

We have been reminded that

The Word is a light/lamp—Psalm 119:105

The Word is a sword—Ephesians 6:17

The Word is a hammer—Jeremiah 23:29

The Word is a mirror—James 1:23,24

The Word is a fire—Jeremiah 20:9

The Bible or the Word, is God’s merciful provision for our sins. It is a map by which we should steer our course through this world if we would reach eternal life.

All we need to know in order to make us peaceful, holy, united, and joyful is contained in the Holy Scriptures. If a young person would know how to begin life well, let him hear what David said; ‘Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed hereto according to Thy Word.’ Psalm 119 v 9

Dear boys and girls let nothing prevent you from reading the Bible. David got wisdom and understanding from it and Timothy knew it from childhood, Timothy 3 v 15

Never be ashamed of reading the Bible. Do not despise the Word. Proverbs 13:13
